Dr. William “Bill” Alexander, 60, resident of 50 Jaybird Lane Lake Greenwood Cross Hill, SC husband of Jane Youngblood Alexander passed away Friday Sept. 20, 2013 at his residence.

Born Oct 31, 1952 in Clinton, SC he was the son of Abit Alexander and the late Emma McCrary Alexander.

Bill had devoted the majority of his life to educating and teaching of young people through the classroom, administrative post and as a coach. He was currently an administrator at Bell St. Middle School. Bill had been in the education field for over 40 years. He earned his bachelors degree from Appalachian State University and his EDS from Clemson University. He obtained his doctorate degree from Oklahoma State University. Bill was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clinton, SC. One can not help but smile as you think and remember Bill as he always greeted you with a big smile and a kind gesture.

Survivors are: His beloved wife of 40 years Jane Youngblood Alexander of the home; a son Will Alexander of the home; a sister Jan Copeland (George) ; a brother Tim Alexander and his father Abit Alexander all of Clinton, SC; a granddaughter Blyth Moyd and a niece Clayton Alexander.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bill will be conducted Monday Sept. 23, 2013 at 4:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, SC with The Revs. Sam Pope and Joe Brooks officiating.

The family will receive friends after services in the church social hall. The family is at the home 50 Jaybird Lane Lake Greenwood Cross Hill, SC 29332.

In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Bill may be made to Martha Dendy Redevelopment Fund C/O City of Clinton, PO Box 748 Clinton, SC 29325 Attn: Dianne Wyatt.
