William “Billy” R. Kidd, age 72, of 86 Washington Street, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Newberry County Hospital.
He was born in Whitmire and was a son of the late John William and Flora Belle Kidd.
Mr. Kidd served eight years in the US Army, and retired from Fiber Web North America. He attended church at Clinton Road Wesleyan Methodist Church as a boy, and currently was a member of the Heritage Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Elaine “Squeaky” Kidd of the home; his daughters, Vonda K. Hunt of Whitmire, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Kenneth) Brown of Whitmire; his sisters, Dianne K. Stroud (Dan) of Whitmire, Daisy K. Bullard of Whitmire; his five grandchildren, Joshua Weber, Dawn Marie Weber, Brianna Brown (Jimmy Runions), Kristen D. Hunt (Chris Keisler), J. Kyle Hunt; his three great-grandchildren, Tanner Runions, Tucker Runions, James D. Bondeson; two sister-in-laws, Ann O'Donald, Clara Dove Kidd Wallace; brother-in-law, Dale Erskine; special daughter, Lisa Erskine Malpass; and twenty-two nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by a daughter, Dawn Michelle Kidd, and two brothers, James Calvin Kidd ,John Edward Kidd, and a brother-in-law, Williet Reed "Bug" Erskine.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 3 PM at the Heritage Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends at the church Monday, January 2, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Whitmire Fire and Rescue.
