William “Bill H.” Snider, age 59 of 500 Jefferson St. died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Redding, CA and was a son of the late George Franklin and Zelma Heiser Snider.
Mr. Snider was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1966 to 1968. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and later as a Navy Seal. During his military service he was awarded two Silver Stars and the Purple Heart. He later worked with Daniels Construction Company as a supervisor and also was employed with Aston Johnson before being diagnosed with M.S. He was a member of the Davidson St. Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Bigham Snider of the home; two daughters, Anna Mae Jordon of TX, Barbara Snider of CA; one son, Billy Snider of CA; two step sons, Drew Mathews of Greenville, Thomas Mathews of Clinton; one brother, Tom Gutzman; two sisters, Lola Gutzman and Deanna Collins all of CA, and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Snider was predeceased by a brother, Ed Snider and a sister, Cathy Snider.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 8th at 3:00 p.m. at the Davidson St. Baptist Church with burial at Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
