William Earl Whitmire, Sr.

William Earl Whitmire, Sr. age 84 of 2456 Hwy. 72 died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at his home.
He was born in Whitmire and was a son of the late Wallace Wilford and Orpha Fraiser Whitmire.
Mr. Whitmire was retired from J.P. Stevens, was a lifetime member of the Roseboro Masonic Lodge #195, member of the American Legion Post #70, US Army veteran of WWII and was a member of the Whitmire United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Tinsley Whitmire of the home; one son, William Earl Whitmire, Jr. and wife Connie of Marietta, SC; one daughter, Rita Ann Cook and husband Wendell of Newberry; a granddaughter, Cindy Hurst; a grandson, Jason Barber and wife Brandy; six great grandchildren, Hailey Coats, Victoria Barber, Cole Whitmire, Gavin Jackson, Stan Whitmire and Kentrell Whitmire.
He was predeceased by two grandsons, Kent Whitmire and Cash Whitmire.
Mr. Whitmire was the last member of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial in the Whitmire Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
