William Hanna Young, Sr.

William Hanna Young, Sr., age 82 of 1411 Coleman Ave., died Friday, January 27th in the Newberry Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Whitmire and was a son of the late Thomas P. and Ruth Hanna Young.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Citadel, Class of 1944; was the owner of Miller Hardware, Elder Emeritus in the Whitmire Presbyterian Church and served in the 9th Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Miller Young of the home, one son, William Young Jr. of Hilton Head and three nieces, Judy Young, Karen Blackman and Jan Easterby all of Charleston.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan 29th at 2:00 p.m. in Whitmire Presbyterian Church.
