William L.E. Dickert age 72 of 1611 Emory Street, died Wednesday
April 9, 2008 in the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Greenville and was a son of the late William E. and Mary Dill Dickert.
Mr. Dickert was a retired employee of West Point Stevens and was a member of the First Baptist Church and the church choir.
He was a member of the National Guard for 41 years and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Dickert is survived by his wife, Sadie Gilliam Dickert of the home; two sons, Tony Wayne (Lenora) Dickert and Martin Scott (LaDonna) Dickert all of Whitmire; four daughters, Jennifer (Milton) Gold of New Bern, NC, Charlene (Mike) Nichols, Darlene (Russell) Baxley, and Kelsey (Paul) Rowe, all of Newberry; and a brother, Johnny Mack Dickert of Clinton; three nephews, two nieces, 21 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Ardith Sparks and Jeurline Renwick.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with interment in Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
