Willie Hoyt Gooch, Jr.”Dub”, age 81, of 200 Stewart St., died Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Ware Shoals and was the son of the late Willie H. Gooch, Sr. and Rosa Lee Hembree Gooch.
Mr. Gooch was retired from Alsimag.
He is survived by a son, Willie H. Gooch, III, of Hampton, VA; a daughter, Julie Dilleshaw of Clinton; a stepdaughter, Margie Lyda of Gray Court; one sister, Lila Woodward of Clinton; and three grandchildren, Jessica Sweatman of Greenville, Katelyn Gooch of Anderson and Carina Gooch of Hampton, VA.
Mr. Gooch was predeceased by his wife, Maggie Mae Gooch.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 29th at 2:00 p.m., at New Beginning Church of God of Prophecy, with burial at Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the home.
