Willie “Bud” Templeton, age 77 of 29 Concrete Dr. and husband of Betty Walker Templeton passed away Wednesday, August 8th, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Laurens and was a son of the late Samuel and Estelle Brewer Templeton.
Mr. Templeton was retired from The Torringtons Bearing Company, was a member of the First Baptist Church and prior to that was a member of the Second Baptist Church whom he loved very much for forty years. Bud also served ten years in the SC National Guard.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, David Brent Templeton of Laurens and daughters, Pam Owens and Pat Hartsell and husband, Rodney; three grandsons, Brian Nelson and wife, Laura, Justin Walker and Amber, and Joey Walker; two great grandsons, Brandon and Johnathon and one step granddaughter, Morgan Hartsell and her sons, Caleb and Peyton; a brother and his wife, Wayne and Delores Templeton of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Estens Templeton, an infant son, Samuel Keith Templeton and his sister, Thelma Brewington.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Laurens by Rev. Rickey Letson, Rev. Dr. Bev Kennedy and Rev. Phil Hall with burial in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
