Willie Ray Sutton, age 73 of 112 Duncan St. died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Wallace Thomson Hospital in Union, SC.
He was born in Bonny Blue, VA and was a son of the late Grant and Eva Morrison Sutton.
Mr. Sutton was retired from the Housing Authority in Laurens, SC, he was member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving are his wife; Patricia Wise Sutton; two sons, Michael R. Sutton and wife, Brooke Sutton of Whitmire, Drew P. Sutton of Whitmire; a sister, Dorothy and Cliff Conner of Newberry; two brothers, Melvin Sutton of Whitmire and Paul Sutton of Newberry; grandchildren, Brad and Kelly Sutton of Anderson, Ligon Sutton of Whitmire, Morgan Sutton of West Columbia, Wyatt Sutton of Whitmire and a great grandson, Trevor Canada Sutton of Kentucky.
He was predeceased by one son, Todd P. Sutton; four sisters, Meda Bouknight, Opal Jennings, Edith Ruff, Billie Gribble and one brother, Alva Sutton.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Friendship Baptist Church with burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church.
