Winifred Ray Collins, age 78, of 104 Arbor Court, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Martha Franks Retirement Home.
He was born in Evansville, IN, and was a son of the late Prentice and Nina Goodson Collins.
Mr. Collins was a retired police officer and a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, old cars and doing community service. He was a loving man with a warm heart for his granddaughters and his dog, Luke.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Collins of the home; daughter, Cindi Ray (Carey) of Waterloo; brothers, Paul Collins and Larry Collins; sister, Carolyn Collins; and grandchildren, Megan Ray (Richard Snow, fiancé) and Breanna Ray.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Donald, Kenny, Harold and Mike, and sisters, Wilma and Sondra.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2018, at 1 PM, at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Laurens, with burial at the M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 to 1 PM at the funeral home.
