Woodrow "Homer" Lanier

Woodrow “Homer” Lanier, age 76, of 949 Torrington Road, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Joe and Zollie Daniels Lanier.
Mr. Lanier was retired from Torrington Bearing Company; was a member of Central UMC of Laurens where he held many offices in the church; he also enjoyed working in his garden and on his farm. Mr. Lanier honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Willie Bee Lanier; his daughters, Judy Jacks (Chuck) of Simpsonville, Jane Lanier Carr (Jimmy) of Greenwood, and Jill Lanier-Ridlehuber (Greg) of Columbia; his brothers, James Lanier (Louise) of Blacksburg and Billy Lanier of Clinton; his sister, Jolene Wainwright of Clinton; his sister-in-law, Violet Lanier of Clinton; his grandchildren, Holly Toler, Brittany Toler, Courtney Jacks, CJ Jacks, Emily Carr, and Katie Ridlehuber; and his great-grandchildren, Cassidy Strickland and McKenzie Strickland.
He was predeceased by his brother, Lewis Lanier.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17th at 11:00 AM at Central UMC with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
