Wylie Edward Corbett, age 78, of 3171 Lisbon Road died Thursday, April 16, 2009 in the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Charlotte, NC and was the son of the late Lawrence F. and Helen Coleman Corbett.
Mr. Corbett was retired for the E.I. DuPont at Savannah River Site. He was a Deacon at the New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Aiken and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict having received an accommodation ribbon for heroism.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Poore Womack Corbett of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sharon Corbett of Aiken; two daughters, Cathy Corbett of Aiken and Beth Corbett of Simpsonville; a step-son, Dr. Ben Womack and his wife, Shari of Pensacola Beach, FL.
Mr. Corbett was predeceased by his first wife, Mamie Tingle Corbett.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with interment in the Lisbon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mountville.
The family will receive friends immediately after the committal service in the Lisbon Church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lisbon Presbyterian Church in Mountville, the New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Aiken or the Honea Path Presbyterian Church.
